Designing Your Bedroom

Interior design is an extremely difficult tasks. Interior designers are paid a hell of a lot of money to design peoples homes. There is a reason for this, it’s difficult. Even designing a single room can be a daunting task so I’m here to tell you how to go about doing it. The first thing, in my opinion what should be decided is the colour scheme you’re going for. Most furniture and household supply stores will offer swatches that illustrate what colours go together and what don’t. From that, you’ll get an idea of what colour schemes to base your room on.

Once you’re happy with the colour option, the first thing you should consider is the carpet or flooring. This, subject to popular belief is the focal point in your room. It is what all the other elements are based on. Personally, I prefer light carpet and light walls, but you can contrast it however you wish. Once your carpet or flooring is set, you need to work on the walls. I am a big fan of the one wall papered and 3 walls plain layout which is becoming extremely popular. The wall colourings on the blank walls should be extremely neutral where as your patterned wall can be as outrageous as you like, so long as the colours contrast.

Once your walls and flooring is covered choosing your furniture, curtains and bed linen to match should be relatively straight forward. It’s easy to see what looks good and what doesn’t once you have the base layout in place.
